The spirit is intact no matter how disabled the body. Addressing the individual on a "soul' or "spiritual" level has proven helpful for me. Also, telling them that I do not understand their instantaneous communication system and am dependent on words lets them know that I am attempting to reach their way of knowing as I assist them in understanding our physical ego based reality. "Open your heart and join" which I assume to mean consciousness, has been their directive to me. Love, trust and expectance of competence is mandatory. I agree with you .
